This is happening quite often, especially in anonymous chat rooms where it is easier to operate for these people. They broadcast their insults/false information about you over the chat, they log in with your username and picture sometime, they add insults/nasty sentences that don?t belong to you, they contact you often behaving like they know you and starting insulting you. Just few common examples, they start spreading that you are a hiv+, slut, that you are into bareback, that your bf is hiv+ and cheating on you, etc ?. any kind of thing that may upset you. They may know you personally, or they have been rejected on this chat or in a real situation, or they just have series mental issues and enjoy acting this way with strangers. What can you do about it? - Take a screen shoot where it is clearly visible the nickname of this person, the chatroom and the harassments/insults. - Send that to local authorities, or to www.helpwanted.nl. together with a description, day and time. - When the chat portal gives this option, report them to the chat administrators. - Everyone on internet can be identified by authorities in collaboration with the chat administrators; they think they are invisible, in reality they are not. What not to do? Don?t engage with them, keep in mind they are people with some mental issues, they actually enjoy when you engage with them more then harassing you. Just ignore or block them.
